Organized this year in Budva, Montenegro, from October 22 to November 3, the Junior World Championships brought together 593 athletes (180 female boxers and 413 male boxers) from 73 countries. France was represented by five young hopefuls, including Djamel Djemmal, who proudly wore the colors of Roubaix and France.
A journey full of promise
Djamel Djemmal distinguished himself from his first fights with remarkable technique, marked by agile lateral movements and precise strikes. In the semi-final he faced Ali Abdullaev, a formidable opponent from Azerbaijan. Despite his tenacity and several hard-hitting attacks, Djamel narrowly missed reaching the final, losing 4-1 after a fierce fight.
This journey to the semi-final testifies to the potential of Djamel Djemmal, who does not leave empty-handed: he returns to Roubaix with a beautiful bronze medal around his neck, symbol of a very promising future in the world of boxing.
A future to follow closely
Djamel Djemmal’s journey is a source of pride for Roubaix. Thanks to his talent and tenacity, this young boxer continues to progress and establish himself on the international scene. His bronze medal at the Junior World Championships is just one step in a journey that many hope will be successful.
