Injured on Wednesday against Sweden (37-31), the left back and the center half left the France team
Left back Elohim Prandi and center half Kyllian Villeminot, injured Wednesday against Sweden (37-31) in Orléans, left the French handball team reinforced for the match Saturday in Norway by Raphaël Lagarde, announced Thursday the French Federation.
Prandi (PSG), injured in the left shoulder in the first action of the match, and Villeminot (Montpellier), injured in the right leg less than a minute after having honored his first selection, “returned to their respective clubs today in order to carry out additional examinations which will determine the medical protocol for the coming weeks.”
Coach Guillaume Gille called Lagarde (27 years old, 78 selections), 2021 Olympic champion and 2023 world vice-champion, to compensate for their absence on the occasion of the 2nd day of the EHF, a competition organized on the sidelines of qualifications at Euro-2026 for the four selections that already have their ticket (Sweden, Norway and Denmark as organizing countries, France as title holder).
