* Juuso Parssinen opened the scoring before Connor McMichael does not put the Capitals back on par. McMichael (8-5-13 in 12 games) exceeded Alex Ovechkin (7-7-14 in 12 games) to become the team’s top scorer this season.
* Connor McMichael (7-0-7 in 5 games) became the fifth Capitals player in the last 20 years to have a five-goal streak at home, joining Alex Ovechkin (4x; longest: 8 matches from December 4, 2008 to January 3, 2009), Alexander Semin (3x; longest: 7 matches from October 23 to November 17, 2010), Mike Green (6 matches from January 13 to February 7, 2009) and Evgeny Kuznetsov (5 matches from February 7 to 26, 2019).
* Alex Ovechkin (5-5-10 in 5 games) contributed to the 2-1 goal and extended his point streak to five games. Ovechkin recorded his 60th career point streak of at least five games in the regular season and surpassed Sidney Crosby as well as Joe Thornton (both with 59) for ninth in NHL history behind Wayne Gretzky (89), Marcel Dionne (81), Joe Sakic (72), Mark Messier (71), Jaromir Jagr (70), Steve Yzerman (69), Gordie Howe (68) et Ron Francis (67).
* Steven Stamkos scored his first career goal on the goalkeeper Logan Thompson. The 148 goalies against whom Stamkos has scored at least one goal rank fourth among active players, behind Alex Ovechkin (176), Sidney Crosby (150) et Evgeni Malkin (149).
* Alex Ovechkin (6-5-11 in 5 games) became the third player in NHL history to record a five-goal streak at age 39 or older, joining Brett Hull with the Red Wings (7 games from November 26 to December 8, 2003) and Johnny Bucyk with the Bruins (6 games from December 10 to 19, 1974).
* Alex Ovechkin (6-5-11 in 5 games) recorded his 15th career goal streak of at least five games in the regular season and became the third player in NHL history to have that many, joining Mario Lemieux (17) et Wayne Gretzky (16).
* Alex Ovechkin scored his 130th career winning goal, putting him within six inches of surpassing Jaromir Jagr (135) for the most game-winning goals in NHL history.
* Logan Thompson improved to 6-0-0 in his first six appearances with the Capitals to tie Tomas Vokoun (6 GP from October 10 to 22, 2011) for the longest winning streak by a goalkeeper since the start of his tenure with the franchise.
* Alex DeBrincat gave the Red Wings a 1-0 lead against his former team by scoring his fourth goal of the season in the first period. Alone Cole Caufield, Nikolaj Ehlers et Alex Ovechkin (all with 5) have more.
* Nick Foligno allowed the Blackhawks to equalize before Dylan Larkincaptain born in the United States, gives the advantage back to the Red Wings. Foligno was born in Buffalo when his father, Mikeplayed for the Sabers – a year before Patrick Kane is born in the city.
* Lucas Raymond completed an assist in his 250th game, bringing his career total to 72-114-186. Over the past 25 years, only two players have scored that many points in their first 250 NHL games with Detroit: Pavel Datsyuk (69-130-199) et Henrik Zetterberg (88-104-192).
*The Red Wings extended their point streak against the Blackhawks to five games since October 21, 2022 (4-0-1). Detroit only has two other active series of this length against a single opponent (9 GP vs. MTL & SJS).
* Cam Talbot (37 years, 124 days) extended his point streak to four games (3-0-1) and became the oldest Red Wings goaltender to post such a streak since Chris Osgood (38 years, 23 days) had a four-game streak in 2010/11.
* Jack Eichel opened the scoring for the Golden Knights. Eichel and Connor McDavid were named to the initial list of Face-Off of the 4 Nations for the United States and Canada, respectively, and will face off two more times in December before the February tournament.
* Zach Hyman (3-1-4 in 4 GP) has scored three goals in his last four games after being deprived of a goal in his first 10 games of the season.
* Noah Hanifin allowed the Golden Knights to equalize. Hanifin was selected by Carolina with the number 5 pick in the 2015 NHL draft, after Connor McDavid et Jack Eichel were respectively first and second in the general classification.

* Noah Hanifin (59:11) became the sixth player in franchise history to score a decisive goal in the final minute of regulation, joining Shea Theodore (59:57 on December 19, 2017 and 59:27 on October 24, 2023), Jack Eichel (59:54 on March 6, 2022), William Carrier (59:42 on February 16, 2023), Mark Stone (59:34 on October 11, 2022) and William Karlsson (59:17 on January 24, 2021).
