The 2024-25 season is, for David Reinbacher, his very first full-time in North America. Last year, he came to end the year in Laval, but he spent most of the season in Europe.
It had also been a difficult year marked by countless coaching changes, so much so that CH was happy to bring him into a more stable environment.
That said, the youngster seriously injured his knee a few minutes before Patrik Laine suffered the same fate, and while the latter could return in more or less two months, Reinbacher’s season is essentially in the water. He could maybe play a few matches at the end of the season, but nothing more.
And in the context where the young person has just arrived in America, it is not necessarily easy for him. He doesn’t have his family or loved ones close to him, so it’s easy to be isolated in such a situation. Especially since rehabilitation can be mentally heavy.
However, we feel that the Canadian is trying to avoid the whole thing: on Halloween night, Paul Byron invited Reinbacher to spend the evening with his family.
The young defender made several young people happy that evening.
Our colleagues at HabsolumentFan also reported the news.
It’s good to see that Byron, who works for the club, is trying to take Reinbacher under his wing. The young person has had to deal with big changes in his life in recent months, and if the club can help him feel at home in Quebec, that’s a good thing.
Mathieu Chouinard also notes that Reinbacher did not know about Halloween celebrations in America. Byron therefore invited him to his home to make him experience all this
And for the Habs, it will be all the more important to undertake such initiatives in the coming days considering that Oliver Kapanen has been sent back to Europe. Yesterday, the latter claimed that he has been spending a lot of time with Reinbacher since the start of the season, and the two seem close.
But now that he is no longer there, we will have to ensure that the young person continues to be in contact with members of the organization.
We know that Reinbacher is sometimes in the CH and/or Rocket entourage. We saw it a few times on the victory videos of the two teams (more often on those of the Rocket, that said), and the club will have to continue to ensure that the kid is doing well.
Already he is going through a great adaptation and recovering from a major injury, we must help him in what we can control for the Canadian.
