Senegal unveils its selection for matches against Burkina Faso and Burundi

The Senegalese Federation (FSF) will publish this Friday the list of players selected by Pape Bouna Thiaw for the Lions’ next matches against Burkina Faso and Burundi. These two meetings count for the fifth and sixth days of the CAN 2025 qualifiers, which will be held in Morocco from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026.

Senegal will meet Burkina Faso on November 14 at the Stade du 26 mars in Bamako, then host Burundi in Diamniadio (Dakar) on November 19. Although Senegal and Burkina Faso have already qualified, these matches will determine the leader of Group L, with Burkina currently occupying first place with a better goal average.

During the last clash, the two teams drew (1-1), a result which adds stakes to this new meeting for first place in the group. For Senegal, already champion of CAN 2021 and qualified for its sixth consecutive participation, this competition will represent an 18th appearance in the final phase, while Burkina Faso will aim for its fourteenth participation.
