Freestyle. Knee injury and upcoming operation for Alexis Ghisleni

The young freestyler from La Clusaz Alexis Ghisleni seriously injured his knee during training in Stubai. He is going to have surgery, his season is over.

Bad news from Tyrol. While training in recent days in Stubai, Austria, freestyler Alexis Ghisleni tore the cruciate ligaments in his right knee. “I was getting the feeling back, with new skis and a boost of motivation. […] It’s a hard blow, because I had big goals this season with the World Cup and the world championships,” says Cluse in an Instagram post.

This knee injury will soon require an operation for the 21-year-old skier. His season is therefore over before even having really started. Several of his teammates and friends sent him a message of support, such as Timothé Sivignon, Astrid and Edgar Cheylus and Kevin Rolland. “We’ve all been there, with our heads in the handlebars now,” the Olympic medalist told him in the half-pipe.

Alexis Ghisleni was present in Chur in October, finishing in 18th place in big air. Its best result at world level is 17th place, also on the urban structure installed in Switzerland.
