In view of their participation in the qualifiers for the African Nations Championship (CHAN), the local national team of Senegal began an intensive internship in boarding school, from November 5 to 7, 2024, at the Jules François Bocandé technical development center, to Toubab Dialaw. This preparation, decisive for the local Lions, aims to prepare them effectively for the final round of the competition’s qualifiers.
For this training course, coach Souleymane Diallo summoned a group of 26 players, selected among the best talents in the Senegalese championship. This team wants to be competitive and determined to qualify for the final phase of CHAN. The campaign will end in December with two legs against Liberia: the first leg will take place between December 20 and 22, followed by the return match between December 27 and 29. The choice of players reflects the dominance of the country’s most successful clubs. Jaraaf de Dakar is particularly well represented with six players, followed by AS Pikine with five players and the reigning champion, Teungueth FC, with four representatives. All the major clubs in the Senegalese first division contribute to this selection. The desire of Souleymane Diallo and his team is to provide the local Lions with the best possible conditions to reach this final stage of the playoffs.
