For those who still doubted it, violence has no place on a field. Here, in summary, is what we can learn from the criminal conviction handed down by the Northern Vaud Public Prosecutor’s Office against an adult who physically attacked a young 16-year-old referee. As a reminder, this affair caused a stir last March. The Vaud Cantonal Football Association (ACVF) decided to punish this gesture severely and took an unprecedented measure: the cancellation of all junior D matches the following weekend.

Since then, the ACVF has also punished this father with three years of stadium suspension for football and hockey matches taking place in the country. And this Tuesday, 24 Hours reveals that the prosecutor Gabriel Moret was not more tender with this man, “known for his excesses at the edge of the pitch and for an unrivaled lack of introspection”, who demonstrated a deplorable attitude both on the pitch and during the investigation. During the procedure, the defendant never stopped accusing his victim of having provoked him, even demanding an apology from him.
