The Canadian has had a checkered start to the season so far, to say the least.
After a three-game losing streak, the Canadian won two games in two nights… Before losing his next three games, finding himself once again in a three-game losing streak.
Meanwhile, the defender Arber Xhekaj doesn’t seem to be one of the head coach’s favorites Martin St. Louis who has already left him out three times since the start of the season.
So much so that several analysts, including the host Georges Laraque of BPM Sports, believe Xhekaj will inevitably be traded this season .
The host Shaun Starr of TSN 690 therefore questioned the journalist and insider Darren Dreger of TSN on a possible transaction for the Canadian tough guy this season.
His response says a lot about his value in the NHL.
If Kent Hughes decides to place Arber Xhekaj on the trade market, I can tell you that there would be a dozen NHL teams interested in acquiring him.
With his style of play, when he plays within his means, he can be an impact player who can change the momentum of a match. I believe the Canadian sees it as part of his future.

Everything indicates that even if he sometimes seems to be the unloved by his coach, Xhekaj still has a very high market value across the league.
It will be interesting to see if Kent Hughes might dare to trade the crowd favorite but if that’s the case, he would certainly have an interesting return for his services.
