The International Union of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) has ranked Ayoub El Kaabi among the world’s top scorers for the year 2024, for the period from January 1 to October 31.
Ayoub El Kaabi occupies seventh position with a total of 34 goals scored until the end of October, scored for the benefit of his Greek club Olympiakos. This total includes 16 goals in the local league, 14 in international club competitions, and 4 with the Moroccan national team.
At the top of the ranking, made up of 56 players, we find Swede Viktor Gyökeres with 50 goals, followed by Englishman Harry Kane and Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, each with 40 goals.
The Moroccan international continues to shine with Olympiakos this season, receiving praise from the Greek press who believe every penny of his contract is well deserved thanks to his impressive offensive performance.
The Atlas Lion has scored 9 goals in various competitions this season for Olympiakos and has also contributed with two assists. The IFFHS thus highlighted his 18 goals, scored between January 1 and October 31, 2024, as one of the best scorers in the world.
In another register, the IFFHS also nominated Moroccan coach Houcine Ammouta, currently coach of the Emirati club Al Jazira and former coach of the Jordan national team, for the title of best national team coach. Ammuta is part of a list of 20 coaches, alongside figures like Luis de la Fuente, Spain coach, and Lionel Scaloni, Argentina coach.
For his part, Bilal El Khannous, who plays for Leicester City, is also nominated for the prize for best prospect of the year, in a list which includes 25 young global talents, including the Spaniards Lamine Yamal and Gavi from Barcelona, the Brazilian Endrick, and Turkish Arda Güler from Real Madrid.
Finally, Moroccan referee Bouchra Karboubi appears in the ranking of the ten best female referees in the world for 2024.
