Max Verstappen attacked the British press after his victory at the Brazilian GP. The Dutchman was surprised by their absence in the Interlagos press room.
Max Verstappen did it. The Dutch driver won the Brazilian GP by starting from 17th place yesterday, after a magnificent comeback. It is true that the circumstances of the race helped him to continue the comeback, but in the meantime, the Red Bull driver has moved a little further at the top of the ranking and is heading straight towards a fourth world crown.
At a press conference after the race, Verstappen took advantage of this success to attack the British press, who he seems to think are too often behind Lando Norris, his rival for the title. The English media were, in fact, not very present in the Interlagos press room after the race. Which surprised Verstappen. “I have a quick question, I’m good to see you here, but where is the British press? Did they rush to the airport? Or do they not know where the press conference is?”he quipped, causing a burst of laughter in the room.
Lando Norris, for his part, felt that Verstappen had been “lucky” in this GP, while admitting that he and Red Bull also played it with a certain intelligence.
