The Génération Foot academy won its first victory of the season on Sunday, during the third day of Senegalese Ligue 1, by beating Casa Sports 2-1. The match was held at the Yoff municipal stadium in Dakar. A meeting marked by intense commitment from both teams, offering a high-level spectacle to the spectators present.
From the first period, the Casa Sports team was able to impose its game and opened the scoring in the 15th minute. Right back Woula Maciré Sané, author of a precise cross, found Boubacar Coly who, with a superb header, deceived the Génération Foot goalkeeper, putting his team in front. Despite several attempts from both sides, Casa Sports retained this advantage until half-time.
But upon returning from the locker room, the Génération Foot academics gained momentum. In the 56th minute, Karfala Camara, well served in the area, found the equalizer, giving hope to his team. The meeting remained tense, with each team seeking to gain the advantage.
The deliverance finally came in the final moments of the match. In the 93rd minute, Namatane Joseph, who came on shortly before, scored the winning goal with a well-executed free kick. This success allows Génération Foot to win their first three points of the season, allowing them to climb to eighth place in the standings. With a total of seven points and a favorable goal difference, Teungueth FC and Jaraaf dominate the standings.
Casa Sports, for their part, recorded a second defeat in three days and currently occupies last place with only one point and a difference of -2. This difficult situation is part of a lackluster series for the Ziguinchorois, who have won only one of their last ten Ligue 1 matches.
In another match of this third day, ASC Jaraaf of Dakar won 3-1 against Linguère of Saint-Louis, at the Alboury Ndiaye stadium in Louga. Abdoulaye Oualy opened the scoring in the 12th minute, and Almamy M. Fall doubled the advantage for Jaraaf in the 65th minute. Despite a reaction from Saint-Louisiens, with a goal from Elhadji Boubacar Fall in the 69th minute, Jaraaf secured their victory with a third goal from Pape MB Mboup in the 89th minute.
This performance allows Jaraaf to maintain a positive dynamic and assert itself as a serious contender in the competition, while Linguère will have to redouble its efforts to reverse the trend in the coming days.
