According to the latest study by CIES (International Center for the Study of Sport), by combining the different official social networks of the biggest football clubs (X, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok), the club meringue presents the greatest number of followers, with no less than 410.9 million fans. Its great rival FC Barcelona takes second place on the podium with 360.7 million subscribers, 50 million less, and Manchester United completes the top three with 216.3 million followers.
The leading French club is obviously PSG with a good fourth place and 184.1 million fans across the networks, but what is obvious is the progress of clubs outside Europe. Boosted by the arrivals of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, Al-Nassr (Saudi Pro League) and Inter Miami (MLS) gained 22.1 million and 31.1 million fans respectively, but remain outside the top 10 (respectively 15e and 23e). The Premier League outrageously dominates this ranking with 5 clubs in the top 10, a sign of the omnipotence of the English championship.
