In search of a victory since September 20, the Biterrois managed to put an end to the spiral of defeats, against Soyaux-Angoulême (29-13). Leading by the score throughout the game, the Héraultais offered themselves a benchmark match in the middle of a bad period, both sporting and non-sporting. A victory as a hope of renewal? This will have to be confirmed next week, again at home, against Dax.
Try to score points when they arise, hold your line of defense when the playing times continue and be consistent throughout a match. These are so many simple things that the Biterrois have been sorely lacking for almost a month, and a bad series of four defeats in a row. This is also what the Pierre Caillet troops were able to do to once again find the path to victory, against a Soyaux Angoulême team that was nevertheless undefeated away. Not the best pickaxe to get started again…
Biterrois applied in defense
However, the Héraultais appear serious from the start. Without the ball, they are solid on their defense line against the Charentais who try to impose a big rhythm. On several occasions, the latter come dangerously close to the goal line, but the defense is united despite its indiscipline. Indeed, by dint of defending, the faults multiply but remain without consequence on the scoreboard. Having become reasonable, the Languedociens attempted penalties and Marques opened the scoring late (30th, 3-0) and the two scorers responded to each other. Only an error from Botica tipped the scales to the Béziers side at the break (40th, 9-6).
