Except that Dieyli Diallo is Idrissa Dacosta, a fake professional soccer player unmasked by Noovo Info in 2023. He was then accused of several criminal counts related to fraud and false identities, served a prison sentence, then was returned to France, his country of origin, since he was in Canada illegally.
Dacosta clearly learned nothing from his misadventures in Quebec. People who have crossed his path since have contacted Noovo Info from Senegal, then from Thailand where Idrissa Dacosta repeated the same stratagems.
The spotlight is on Dacosta as part of a new episode of season 2 of Unmaskedbroadcast Friday evening at 8:30 p.m. on the Canal D channel.
Recruited by AS Pikine
The first ploy that Dacosta implemented in Senegal was to pose as a professional soccer player. AS Pikine recruited him last February, believing they were hiring a player from an Italian team.
The team quickly smelled the pot of roses, and “Dieyli Diallo” was shown the door. Noovo Info contacted the organization, which did not respond to our questions.
During his stay in Senegal, Dacosta managed to gain the trust of several people, including the manager of a soccer school from whom he allegedly borrowed nearly $3,000, an amount that was never repaid.

Destination: Thailand
In July 2024, Luc (fictitious name) meets “Dieyli Diallo” in Thailand. The latter presents himself as a professional soccer player, formerly of CF Montréal and aspiring to the Japan Football League. He mentions that Thailand is a good place to prove yourself.
Over time, Dacosta becomes closer to Luc, to whom he occasionally entrusts his young son. He borrows money from a friend of Luc, a sum equivalent to 2000 Canadian dollars, which he promises to repay when he receives a large transfer that he is waiting for.
As the payment never comes, Luc ends up confronting Dacosta. “He became very different, very defensive,” recalls Luc in his testimony to Noovo Info
The money, as usual, will never be returned. Luc digs into “Dieyli Diallo” and learns his true identity by watching Noovo Info reports.
A fake party, like in Quebec
As in Quebec, Dacosta organized a fake VIP party in Pattaya. The “All White Party” offered tables for 20,000 baht (over $800 in Canadian currency), but never took place. And customers paid the sum to Dacosta, Luc confirmed to Noovo Info.
Dacosta nie
In long voice messages, Dacosta denied the information to Noovo Info, calling our journalist a “liar” and “manipulator”.
Dacosta was convicted last year of multiple counts of fraud, theft and identity theft. His scams allegedly caused damage totaling nearly $30,000 in Quebec.
