Lewis Hamilton will take a few laps at the wheel of a McLaren this weekend during the Brazilian GP. The Briton will thus pay tribute to Ayrton Senna, who died racing more than 30 years ago now.
The world of Formula 1 is meeting in Brazil this weekend for the 21st Grand Prix of the season. If the fight between Verstappen and Norris should continue, another moment should mark the minds of the spectators.
Indeed, Lewis Hamilton will do a few laps at the wheel of a McLaren, but for good reason. The seven-time world champion will in fact pay tribute to the Brazilian legend, Ayrton Senna, by piloting his legendary MP4/5B with which the late pilot was crowned in 1990.
“I love coming here, it’s the colors, Ayrton, the culture. I never in a million years imagined driving Ayrton’s car here. Just the idea of driving this car here, it will be a moving experience“Hamilton said at a press conference.
If the Briton pays this tribute, it is obviously to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Senna’s death, on May 1, 1994, on the Imola circuit.
