Tessa Wullaert’s new life in Italy: “Tactically and technically, it’s different”

“My family tries to visit me as often as possible because time is limited in Italy with six days a week on the pitch or in training.” After finishing top scorer in the Bene League with Standard and Anderlecht, Tessa Wullaert joined the ranks of VfL Wolfsburg in May 2015. A year later, she played in the Champions League final. A few months later, she won the first women’s Golden Shoe in history then a second in 2019.

In the city of Lower Saxony, it won two league titles and three Cups. Change of scenery in 2018 when Tessa Wullaert was transferred to England, to Manchester City where she achieved the FA Cup-League Cup double before returning to Anderlecht in 2020 where she would still collect many trophies for two seasons before attempting the adventure in the Batavian lands near Fortuna Sittard with a fourth Golden Shoe at stake. Alongside her role as a serial scorer on the pitch, the elegant striker is launching, in 2021, a project which consists of organizing training courses for young girls who want to play . She also recently became a member of the UEFA Council for Women’s Football Matters, the themes of which are strategy, refereeing, match calendars, competitions and player welfare.
