Can we dream of the acquisition of Yanni Gourde in Montreal?
Renaud Lavoie is dreaming. According to the TVA Sports journalist, negotiations for a contract extension have still not started between the Kraken and the native of Saint-Narcisse.
“It’s not in the DNA of the organization,” Lavoie clarified during his segment on the daily JiC on TVA Sports. […] If there is no agreement, a transaction will occur in his case at the deadline.”
And it is this possibility that excites the TVA Sports reporter, since we can expect veterans to leave the organization in the near future.
“I would like that,” Renaud Lavoie admitted bluntly. You’ll probably lose Christian Dvorak and Joel Armia. Marc Bergevin’s old clique is going to leave the organization and you have to replace them. The Habs will have to find a way to attract players with character, players who have already won the Stanley Cup.
Gourde is still looking for his first goal this season after nine games. He settled for 33 points last season, but had 48 points in each of the previous two years.
A tough forward, Gourde won the Stanley Cup twice with the Lightning, in 2020 and 2021.
