The logic was respected in the Eifel at the end of the Top Qualifying, given the times set in the qualifying sessions yesterday and at the start of this Friday afternoon, with the No. 72 BMW M4 GT3 – BMW M Team RMG of Max Hesse, Dan Harper and Charles Weerts in pole position.

Top Qualifying 1 is initially dominated by Nico Varrone with the No. 1 Ferrari 296 GT3 – Frikadelli Racing, winner in 2023. The Argentinian dominates in 8’10″889 and is ahead of Sheldon van der Linde (BMW M4 GT3 n °99 – ROWE Racing), Dan Harper (BMW n°72 – BMW M Team RMG), Maro Engel (Mercedes n°130 – Mercedes-AMG Team Getspeed) and Arjun Maini (Mercedes n°3 – Mercedes-AMG Team Bilstein) .

Disappointment for Augusto Farfus, who was unable to qualify the #98 BMW – ROWE Racing for the final decisive session for pole position, just like David Pittard (Aston Martin Vantage #34 – Walkenhorst Motorsport) and Adam Christodoulou (Mercedes n°8 – Mercedes-AMG Team Getspeed). The Glickenhaus SGC 004c n°706 did not take part in the session, following an engine change.

The Top Q2 finally saw Max Hesse (BMW n°72 – BMW M Team RMG) take pole in 8’10″992 at the end of his first attempt, the tires no longer having the necessary strength to obtain the pole A time slightly slower than that of the Top Q1.

Hesse precedes Laurens Vanthoor (Porsche 911 GT3 R n°911 – Manthey EMA) by 0.406, the Belgian having lost time in the last part of the circuit on his best lap. Ricardo Feller (Audi R8 LMS GT3 n°16 – Scherer Sport PHX) is one of the only drivers to really improve his time on his second attempt to move up to second row at 0″414 alongside Kelvin van der Linde (Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 n°27 – ABT), beaten by 0″516. Christopher Haase (Audi n°15 – Scherer Sport PHX) is the last driver in the same second at 0″553 in 5th position.

Followed by Daniel Keilwitz (Ferrari n°1 – Frikadelli Racing), Augusto Farfus (BMW n°99 – ROWE Racing), Fabian Schiller (Mercedes n°130 – Mercedes-AMG Team Getspeed), Maxi Götz (Mercedes n°4 – Mercedes- AMG Team Bilstein) and Klaus Bachler who completes the top 10 with the Porsche n°33 – Falken Motorsports. The best Aston Martin Vantage GT3 n°35 – Walkenhorst Motorsport of Mike David Ortmann will start 16th.

The 24 Hours of Nürburgring will start tomorrow at 4 p.m.
