Launch of the HAVOBA Program: Train and support

As part of the partnership agreement signed between the French Development Agency (AFD) and the French handball, volleyball and basketball federations, during the New Africa-France Summit, the HAVOBA program is officially launched this 23 May in Casablanca, Morocco. This program aims to contribute to the development of the social impact of these three disciplines on the African continent.

The objective of this first gathering, which will bring together more than 60 stakeholders from May 23 to 25, is to take stock of the situation and identify areas of development in order to increase the practice of sport for all within the target countries.

In continuation of the actions carried out by the three French federations in Africa, the HAVOBA initiative aims to strengthen links with the federations of Benin, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Tunisia and Morocco, and is divided into four components:
– Support African federations in an inclusive approach to developing the practice of team sport for youth with the implementation of strategies and tools to develop licensed practice and reduce gender inequalities in these sports;
– Strengthen the structure of these federations, in collaboration with local stakeholders, by setting up training for the four families: Players, Technicians, Officials and Managers ;
– Develop data collection and support the digitalization of federations through the implementation of IT management tools;
– Capitalize on training through the creation of a digital platform allowing sharing and discussion with all stakeholders.

The HAVOBA foundation, under the aegis of the Fondation du Sport Français (FSF), wishes to respond to one of its priority concerns, the fight against inequalities.
