The second trio of the Montreal Canadiens has been slow since the start of this season and already, the time has come to find a way to revive it.

The center of this unit, Kirby Dach, is struggling to regain his speed after missing almost all of last season due to a serious knee injury. Next to him, Alex Newhook only has his speed. On the other flank, Joel Armia has not returned to being the effective player he was towards the end of last season.

Visiting “JiC” on Tuesday, TVA Sports journalist Anthony Martineau suggested that a “short or medium term solution” is undoubtedly found on the team’s third (or fourth?) trio: Emil Heineman , who already has two goals on the clock in 2024-2025.

“That would be my choice,” he said.

“This guy, in terms of velocity, has the best shot on the team,” he added. I’m not talking about accuracy, where Cole Caufield is number one. But I say it without embarrassment: Emil Heineman has the best wrist shot in the Montreal Canadiens.”

Heineman already deserves, according to him, a better opportunity to showcase his offensive qualities.

The young Swedish striker, he said, could represent a much better option for playmaker Kirby Dach.
