In , there are many problems related to rights. Some clubs could face serious economic problems if the situation remains as it is.

A few weeks ago, DAZN and beIN Sports won the TV rights for Ligue 1. But since then, the controversies have continued to multiply. The first mentioned does not convince with its subscription offers and the quality of its product. The second is contested for the times chosen, in particular for Ligue 2, but also for the 5 p.m. match in Ligue 1 on Saturday. So much so that the first payment of TV rights, estimated at nearly 15 million euros to be shared between the 18 Ligue 1 clubs, has still not been made by the Qatari media. But that’s not all, since beIN Sports splits some of the elite clubs over sponsorship. Because in the agreement concluded a few days ago, 20 of the 98.5 million euros promised by beIN Sports resulted from the display of sponsors linked to Qatar on the jerseys and stadiums of French clubs.

beIN Sports embarrasses FC

An agreement ultimately contested by clubs like OL or OM, who do not want to do it. All these problems, particularly payments, are already affecting the most economically fragile clubs in Ligue 1. This is the case of FC Nantes. Moreover, as revealed on RMC in recent hours by Daniel Riolo, the Canaries could soon face a social plan by aligning themselves with the current protest: “It seems that in Nantes, they want to follow the protest movement. Do you know that in Nantes, there are people who are starting to not get paid among the employees? There may be a social plan looming. The people of Nantes will start to cry, too.” This is enough to cast a further dampener on the economic health of elite clubs. And knowing that DAZN does not have at all the number of subscribers expected, the damage could be even greater very soon.
