The Edmonton Oilers have reunited Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid for Tuesday night’s game against the Philadelphia Flyers.

Draisaitl and McDavid will form a trio with Zach Hyman, as the Oilers try to record their first victory since the start of the season.

The Oilers, who are 0-3, were outscored 15-3. Draisaitl was limited to one goal and McDavid to two assists.

Woll patine, Nylander absent

Goaltender Joseph Woll skated before the Toronto Maple Leafs practice on Tuesday, his name being on the injured list since the start of the campaign.

Woll also jumped on the ice Monday, but then did not take part in regular training with the rest of his teammates.

The 6-foot-3 goalie missed the first three games of the season.

He went 12-11-1 with a 2.95 goals-against average and a .907 save percentage in 25 games last season. He also played 3 games in the playoffs.

Furthermore, forward William Nylander did not participate in Tuesday’s training because he is ill.

Nylander played in Saturday night’s game against the Pittsburgh Penguins, scoring two goals.

This season, Nylander is entering the first year of an 8-year contract worth US$92 million signed last January.

John Tavares returned to training on Tuesday after missing Saturday’s game due to illness.

Thompson will face his former team

Goaltender Logan Thompson is expected to play his first game in a Washington Capitals uniform this evening against the Vegas Golden Knights, his former team.

The Capitals acquired Thompson’s services in June in exchange for two draft picks.

Thompson was 25-14-5 with a 2.70 goals-against average and .908 save percentage last season.

Stars recall Petrovic

The Dallas Stars have recalled defenseman Alexander Petrovic from their Texas farm club in the American Hockey League.

Petrovic has one goal in two games since the start of the campaign in Texas.

He scored 5 goals and collected 17 assists in 70 games last season with the school club.

A first start for Kochetkov

Goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov is expected to make his first start of the season this evening as the Carolina Hurricanes face the New Jersey Devils.

Kochetkov went 23-13-4 with a 2.33 goals-against average and .911 save percentage last season.

Eriksson Ek and Spurgeon still absent

The Minnesota Wild will be without the services of forward Joel Eriksson Ek and defenseman Jared Spurgeon this evening against the Blues.

Both players will miss a second game in a row. The Wild lost 2-1 to the Winnipeg Jets in their absence on Sunday.

Eriksson Ek is unable to play due to a broken nose suffered Saturday night against the Seattle Kraken, while Spurgeon is out with a lower-body injury.

Knight in front of Panthers net

Spencer Knight is expected to be the starting goalie for the Florida Panthers against the Columbus Blue Jackets tonight.

The Panthers lost 4-1 to the Buffalo Sabers on Saturday when Knight was in net.

Knight spent most of last season with the Charlotte Checkers in the AHL, after seeking help from the NHL’s assistance program the previous campaign.

He was 25-14-5 with a 2.41 goals-against average and .905 save percentage in the AHL last season.

Kovalenko sold in the American League

The Colorado Avalanche have traded forward Nikolai Kovalenko to their AHL farm club.

Kovalenko played 3 games for the Avalanche this season, spending an average of 14:06 on the ice.

Kovalenko is the son of former Nordiques and Canadiens glory Andrei Kovalenko.
