QMJHL summary from October 13, 2024: Bo Damphousse’s first goal in the QMJHL

Prospect Mateo Nobert had a goal and an assist and the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada defeated the Gatineau Matériaux 4-2.

Bo Damphousse scored the first goal of his QMJHL career for the Armada. Vincent Desjardins and Olivier Lemieux also found the back of the net in the victory.

Son of former Montreal Canadiens player, Vincent Damphousse, Bo was drafted by the Armada at 26th overall in 2023.

Young defender Xavier Villeneuve, a hopeful for the 2026 NHL draft, set the table for two goals for the Basses-Laurentides team.

Melovsky does it again for the Sags

Matyas Melovsky scored late in the third period and the Baie-Comeau Drakkar defeated the Chicoutimi Saguenéens 4-2 on Sunday evening at the Alcoa Sports Center.

Melovsky took advantage of a numerical advantage to unleash a precise wrist shot that deceived the vigilance of Raphaël Précourt with a little more than four minutes remaining in the match.

He also scored the winning goal against the Saguenéens, in overtime, Thursday evening.

Louis-Charles Plourde hit the target twice and Justin Poirier sealed the outcome of the match in an empty net for the Drakkar, who has not lost in regulation time in his last three outings (2-0-1 ).

Raoul Boilard and Olivier Samson both collected two assists for the Baie-Comeau squad. Prospect Lucas Beckman blocked 31 of 33 shots he faced.

Emmanuel Vermette and Félix Gagnon, against his former team, provided the response for the Saguenéens, who suffered a third loss in a row.

Précourt concluded the clash with 27 saves.

Tigres 2 – Titan 3 (extension)

Colby Huggan completed his team’s comeback by playing the heroes in overtime and the Acadie-Bathurst Titan beat the Victoriaville Tigres 3-2.

Huggan forced an extra period by threading the needle with just 16.3 seconds remaining. He then beat Gabriel D’Aigle following a Tigres turnaround.

D’Aigle, a prospect for the 2025 draft, tried everything for his team in defeat, stopping 43 pucks.

Phoenix 2 – Mooseheads 4

Liam Kilfoil collected a goal and an assist to lead the Halifax Mooseheads to a 4-2 victory at the expense of the Sherbrooke Phoenix.

Braedan MacPhee, Jan Sprynar and Shawn Carrier also scored for the Mooseheads, who ended a three-game losing streak.

Hugo Primeau and Florent Houle scored for the Phoenix, who suffered a third consecutive defeat.
