In a match of absolute mediocrity that we could have rated with a wide three out of ten, Racing 92 scrum half Nolan Le Garrec allowed his team to get by, notably by scoring 17 points on the foot. On the Toulon side, English third row Lewis Ludlam was not at the party, unlike his first outings in Toulon.
The tops
In this match which was a complete draw, Nolann Le Garrec was one of the rare players to try to set the pace on the heavy pitch of the Duvauchelle stadium. Faced with these sluggish Toulonnais, he took a few nice intervals and scored, with his foot (6 out of 7), all of his team’s points. He somehow won the mano a mano which pitted him on Saturday against Baptiste Serin, one of his competitors for the position in the French team.
At the end of a match marked by its insipid first period and its messy inaccuracies, Racing ended up winning thanks to the boot of Nolann Le Garrec and a late try from Jannick Tarrit (22-6).

Once again, the young second row of Racing 92, who arrived in Hauts-de-Seine a little over a year ago from Exeter, proved in Créteil that he was one of the greatest hopes of the position, in Top 14. Active with ball in hands, solid in combat, Junior Kpoku (20 years old) will certainly make a name for himself this season…
The flops
Toulon third row Lewis Ludlam, who arrived in the harbor in the off-season, showed himself, this Saturday in Créteil, far from the great promises displayed during his first four outings with the RCT. Starting for the fifth time this season, the former England international never really weighed in this meeting. On the contrary, he even seemed to suffer at times under the physical challenge. Manager Pierre Mignoni did not hesitate to replace him in the second half (55e) even though he had played all of the four matches started since the start of the season.

You will agree, it was not a match for wingers. In difficult playing conditions, few balls reached the end of the line. In this context, Toulon winger Gaël Dréan had few opportunities to show himself. However, we never saw him offer to come and get balls in the attack line. Under a high ball, he also committed a forward at the start of the match (9e). In short, a match, punctuated by zero points for his team, to be quickly forgotten for the Breton.
