Walid Regragui removes Hakim Ziyech from the Atlas Lions list – Le7tv.ma

The absence of Hakim Ziyech in Walid Regragui’s latest list for the CAN 2025 qualifiers raises questions, but it is justified (in principle and officially!!!) by an injury which prevents him from joining the Atlas Lions. On the other hand, this list reveals the notable arrival of new talents, notably Osame Sahraoui, who chose to represent Morocco after changing his sporting nationality, preferring the colors of the Kingdom to those of Norway.

The national coach, Walid Regragui, continues to rely on a mixture of experience and youth to strengthen the Atlas Lions. With players like Achraf Hakimi, Yassine Bounou, and Sofyan Amrabat still leading the charge, he also gives a chance to promising prospects such as Hellas Verona’s Reda Belahyana and Stade Rennais’ Abdelhamid Ait Boudlal.

The absence of Ziyech, although deplorable for the supporters, is compensated by the depth of the group and the rising talents. Midfielder Brahim Diaz is also sidelined due to injury, while Amine Harit, despite his efforts, is not yet in Regragui’s immediate plans.

Already qualified for CAN 2025, Morocco approaches these matches against the Central African Republic with confidence, at the top of group B, and intends to continue its victorious momentum, consolidating its status as favorite for the tournament.
