Luis De La Fuente, Spain coach, does not appreciate seeing private conversations between Luis Enrique and Kylian Mbappé broadcast in the documentary series dedicated to the PSG coach.

Luis De La Fuente is not at all a fan of the documentary series dedicated to Luis Enrique’s 2023-2024 season at PSG, broadcast on the Spanish channel Movistar+. Guest on the Cadena Ser on Tuesday, the Spain coach explained that he would not watch it, while deploring the public broadcast of conversations held in the privacy of the locker room. He was notably questioned about the tough speech given by the Spanish technician to Kylian Mbappé between the two matches of the quarter-finals of the Champions League against FC Barcelona.

“If a conversation is private, it’s private”

“The Luis Enrique documentary? No, I haven’t seen it and I won’t watch it,” he replied. “Do I ever have conversations like the one with Mbappé? What I wouldn’t do is broadcast them and make them public. If a conversation is private, it’s private. I don’t like that .”

Luis De La Fuente is not the only voice to be offended by the broadcast of this sequence. Guti, a former Real Madrid player, also deplored it. “In a discussion with a player, you can speak that way as a coach, whether it’s with Kylian or another player, it’s OK,” he said. “But bringing it up in a documentary seems ugly to me. I think it’s ugly. It’s a good thing you can tell them that, because at the end of the day, it’s true. It’s not enough to attack, it’s not enough to score goals… but releasing it seems like a mistake to me. If I was Kylian, I wouldn’t have let them release it.”

In the second episode of the documentary entitled ‘You have no f… idea’ broadcast on Monday, the Parisian coach criticizes Mbappé’s defensive work. “It’s… catastrophic!”, he says. “I read that you loved Michael Jordan. He grabbed all his teammates by the balls and defended like a son of a bitch… You have to set that example. First as a person and as a player to press. You you have to go and press Cubarsi, you have to be the one who marks Cubarsi and Ter Stegen, you are going to spend the whole match pressuring Cubarsi not to advance and Ter Stegen to play quickly and come back quickly Why. ?For you to be a leader because you think you have to score goals for us Of course you are a phenomenon, a great world player, without a doubt, but that doesn’t matter.
