In 2023, the Bains de la Motta company recorded its second best turnover for entries. This has been happening since 2012. It has collected 495,000 francs while the record dates back to 2022 with 529,000 francs, shareholders learned at the meeting on Wednesday evening. The past season is described as exceptional with 170,000 entries recorded, compared to 150,000 in 2022. A number influenced by the celebrations of the hundred years of the swimming pool and the free days.

The limited company closes the 2023 financial year with a deficit of 253,000 francs for total expenses of 924,000 francs. A loss described as “standard”, according to Pierre-Olivier Nobs, Friborg municipal councilor and chairman of the board of directors. It will be covered by subsidies from the city of Fribourg.

123,000

francs, amount spent for the hundred years of Motta

Les Bains de la Motta spent 123,000 francs for the 100th anniversary festivities. “Seventy-five events were organized. The last one dates back to this fall with the planting of an oak tree,” reports Pierre-Olivier Nobs. Various equipment installed on the occasion of this anniversary will be maintained, such as the wooden seats offered by the Service de la bourgeoisie. “The cultural collaborations born during this jubilee have most likely paved the way for future collaborations. We want to continue to use the Motta for relaxation, sport and culture,” adds Pierre-Olivier Nobs.

He announces that the publication of the hundredth newspaper, named Motta, will be renewed this summer. “We are continuing with the same concept with a bilingual version which highlights water. The journal will be published only once this year. It will remain free and will be printed in around 23,000 copies,” he continues. For 2024, the Motta swimming pool, which opened on May 9, will retain its entry prices. The price of cabins increases by 100 to 110 francs for the season.
