The alpine ski season will be launched as usual on the glacier above Sölden. The women will open fire with the giant on October 26, in which Lara Gut-Behrami will try to repeat her victory from last year.

The next day, Marco Odermatt will have the opportunity to win the Austrian event for a third time. Last season, the men’s race was canceled after the first round due to poor weather conditions.

The women will stop again in St. Moritz (December 21 and 22), where two super-Gs are on the program just before Christmas.

The start of 2025 will be marked by the men’s classics week with the races in Adelboden (January 11 and 12), Wengen (January 17 to 19) and Kitzbühel (January 24 to 26). After the Worlds in Saalbach (February 4 to 16), the men will go directly to Crans Montana. A men’s downhill and super-G will take place on February 22 and 23 on the Haut-Plateau.

Unprecedented Norwegian stage

A new place has also appeared in the men’s calendar: Hafjell, not far from Lillehammer. A giant and a slalom will be contested there on March 15 and 16.

The speed races in Zermatt, which could not be organized in previous years, are no longer included in the provisional race calendar. The White Circus will, however, fly a second time across the Atlantic for the finals, which will take place from March 22 to 27 in Sun Valley, Idaho (United States).

In total, 12 slaloms are planned for the men, one less than last season. However, the technicians, who will also compete in 9 giants, will always have more opportunities to score points than the speed specialists (9 downhills and 8 super-G). For women, the ratio is slightly more balanced with 8 descents and 9 super-Gs compared to 10 giants and 10 slaloms.
