A massacre of absentees
Nothing will be simple, traveling to Meinau is always tedious, and for everyone. The Strasbourg stadium has yet to see a defeat in three Ligue 1 matches this season. Especially since Artesian coach Will Still has to deal with eleven absentees (!) in his group.
Nine players are injured: Jonathan Gradit (rotated ankle in training) joined Kevin Danso (heart) Neil El Aynaoui (torn hamstring), Hamzat Ojediran (torn hamstring), Jimmy Cabot (knee), Hervé Koffi (psoas tear), Martin Satriano (cruciate knee ligaments), Sidi Bané (hamstrings) and Deiver Machado (thigh) in the infirmary. We add to this two Lensois suspended for this meeting, Anass Zaroury and Rémy Labeau Lascary, and the count is there.
This complicates the task for the coach who had to call on four players from the squad. Adam Delplace as third goalkeeper, central Ismaëlo Ganiou, midfielder Tom Pouilly and young 16-year-old defender Kyllian Antonio, who is making his first appearance in the pro group.
