Finally, the preparatory schedule is coming to an end.
The Canadian and the Senators concluded their preparatory schedule this evening.
Here are the two lineups for the occasion.
The two teams did not dress many veterans…
From the 44th second, Ottawa broke the ice.
Shane Pinto opened the scoring.
Moments later, Arber Xhekaj once again proved he belonged on the Sens.
He made short work of Zack MacEwen with his fists. Fortunately, the 72 finished the match, as his coach wanted.
The Sens forward got two extra minutes on the sequence.
Xhekaj’s fight clearly did not upset his team as Pinto doubled his team’s lead with his second of the match.
Montreal was playing 3 against 5 at this time…
As Ottawa headed to the locker room with a two-goal lead, Christian Dvorak beat Linus Ullmark for the first time this evening.
Great work from Alex Barré-Boulet and Brendan Gallagher on the sequence.
Despite CH’s renewed life, it was the Sens who scored first in the second period.
First, Michael Amadio outsmarted Monty.
Then, Shane Pinto completed his hat trick.
Outnumbered…
After a numerical advantage where CH was unable to score, Arber Xhekaj fired a lightning shot (deflected) from distance which surprised Ullmark.
However, this was not enough.
This not too exciting match finally ended with a score of 4-2 in favor of the locals.
The CH will begin its season Wednesday evening against the Maple Leafs at the Bell Centre. It was that this preparatory schedule ends.
