Larbi Al-Touijer, Governor of the Province of Taourirt, supervised today, Saturday October 5, the opening of the “Semi-Olympic” indoor swimming pool, in the presence of Youssef Belkacemi, Director of Collective Administration of the company “SONARGES”, and Mohamed Dib, director of the Eastern Regional Academy, in addition to a certain number of officials and parliamentarians.
The project, costing 17 million dirhams, aims to provide a sports space allowing young people to develop their swimming skills and bring sports facilities closer to citizens.
The pool includes an eight-lane pool with stands that can accommodate 320 spectators, in addition to an honorary platform and various facilities including clothing warehouses, toilets, administrative headquarters and health facilities.
This project covers a total area estimated at 6,400 square meters, including 2,030 square meters covered, and was implemented within the framework of an agreement between the unions of the Taourirt region and the Ministry of National Education , Primary Education and Sports.
The Board of Directors of the National Company for the Construction and Management of Sports Facilities will take charge of this vital installation, which represents a qualitative leap in the development of sporting activity in the region.
