This Monday, May 6, in the premises of the French Football Federation, the general assembly of the National Union of Coaches and Technical Executives of French Football (UNECATEF) was held, marking the end of an era for Raymond Domenech.

Philippe Montanier continues to work in the shadows. Away from the field since his departure from TFC in June 2023 after two fabulous years at the head of the team marked by a return to Ligue 1 and a Coupe de France, the coach remains invested in his activity.

Meeting this Monday, the coaches union, more commonly known as Unecatef, decided to disembark Raymond Domenech – who has been president of the group since 2016 – following an election during the general assembly.

The group opposed to the former coach of the Blues was led by the trio Claude Le Roy, Jacques (known as Jacky) Bonnevay and therefore the former player (1994-1997) and coach of TFC (2021-2023) Philippe Montanier, as indicated by The Team.

The former coach of the Haut-Garonne club and his acolytes undoubtedly wanted a change after weeks of friction within the union. The sports daily even reports that tensions continued until a few minutes before the meeting.

To succeed Raymond Domenech, the band has chosen Bertrand Reuzeau who currently occupies the role of training director at the neighboring club Montpellier HSC.
