More than a hundred hours of rush and twelve months of filming produced the series about Luis Enrique, the first episode of which was broadcast Monday evening in Spain. The producer explains how the hyperactivity of the Parisian coach drained the film crew.

After a multitude of extracts, the first episode of the series on Luis Enrique was broadcast Monday evening in Spain on the Movistar+ channel. For more than a year, the cameras followed the steps of the PSG coach in his work but also with his family. And the Spanish technician, the hyperactive type, made the film crew stick out their tongues, who accumulated more than 100 hours of images alongside him. In an interview with Relevo, journalist Marc Guillén, executive producer of the documentary, tells the story behind the scenes.

“It was exhausting”

He promises spectators to see “pure Luis Enrique”. “It’s almost a monologue,” he explains. “We enter into his life and see what his daily life as a coach is like. And ultimately also his personal life because we see him mostly in the office working, but also outside the office and work. Luis Enrique is a very sincere, very authentic, transparent and very passionate and I think it will be understood a little better.

“We also discover a joking person, very pleasant, very close to his friends, but with the same intensity as that with which he sometimes treats journalists, the people around him, because he lives everything like that and already says that , no it’s not perfect. Sometimes this intensity also makes him experience bad moments, but that’s who he is for better and for worse.”

The film crew also observed this intensity up close. “The truth is that it was exhausting,” smiles the producer. “We had a great time and we have a great relationship with him, but he’s such an energetic person that when you’re with him, he sucks the energy out of you. We left the shoot exhausted because he says things all the time, even if there comes a time of the day where he also lacks energy, I mean, he’s human But that’s how it is, as soon as he gets up in the morning, he. has a lot of energy and it’s all the intensity, he speaks, explains things to you over and over and always with the same passion.” After the first episode broadcast on Monday, the second will be broadcast on the 7th and the third on the 14th.
