Debast a rejoint le Sporting CP
Debast was sold to Sporting CP for 16 million euros, according to A Bola. Jean Kindermans, Neerpede’s former coach, felt that it was not a lot of money.
“16 million euros? It’s a gift. I am sure Sporting could sell him in two or three seasons for two or three times more,” he said.

Kindermans compared Debast to Vincent Kompany in terms of play. “They are similar in terms of football. Zeno sees the passing lines, the free players. He knows how to take risks during matches. We can compare him a little to Kompany, but not entirely. After all, Kompany is perhaps the best central defender in the history of Belgium.”
