Misconduct | The moment in Quebec women’s sport that most marked you

There is a Quebec athlete who really left an impression on me, but who made certain blunders After her sporting career. Nous sommes le 20 février 2014, les Jeux olympiques tirent à leur fin à Sotchi et j’ai la chance de profiter d’une soirée de congé dans mon rôle d’annonceur maison pour les compétitions de patinage de vitesse courte piste. Je planifie aller à la Maison du Canada pour regarder la finale de hockey féminin tant attendue entre le Canada et les États-Unis. J’y rencontre la mère de Charles Hamelin, Manon, et son conjoint qui ont deux billets pour cette finale, mais rapidement, Manon m’offre son billet pour que je puisse accompagner son conjoint à la rencontre. Proposition difficile à refuser ! Ambiance folle, environ 50 % de partisans canadiens et l’autre moitié de partisans américains, nous n’aurions jamais cru être en Russie. Partie bien contrôlée par les Américaines qui se dirigeaient vers la victoire lorsque l’on voit, dans la dernière minute du match, la rondelle se diriger tout lentement vers le filet désert canadien droit devant nous… Le disque n’entre finalement non seulement pas dans le but, mais se retrouvera plutôt dans le filet américain quelques secondes plus tard. La réaction de la foule dans notre section canadienne ne sera dépassée que quelques minutes plus tard lors du but vainqueur que j’ai eu la chance de filmer de mon siège. Nous avions tous le sentiment, d’un petit coin de la Russie, d’avoir assisté à un moment d’anthologie, ce qui se confirme encore 10 ans plus tard.
