the Golden Knights have a way of angering fans (of other teams)
Descriptive text here

As you know, the Golden Knights play at hockey according to the limits of the collective agreement.

Every year for the past three years, the club captain has been injured just before the trade deadline. He therefore creates space on the payroll of his club, which will often look for reinforcement.

And curiously, he is always ready to come back for the playoffs, when the payroll no longer exists. Microfracture or not, this guy is showing up in the playoffs.

Yesterday, for example, during the first game of the playoffs against Dallas, he made his return to the game. He not only played for more than 17 minutes, but he also scored in the first minutes of the game.

A goal in a 4-3 win makes the difference, let’s face it.

So he came back from the dead to make a difference. He really looked in great shape for a guy who was labeled “too injured to play” just a few days ago, when the regular season was still underway.

And let’s just say this was highlighted en masse on social media.

But because the Golden Knights do things their own way, it should be noted that on the club’s social networks, the situation is a Source of content. The club has fun with it.

Announcing his return (yesterday) by quoting him without naming him (and marking “guess who” instead) is a good example.

Fans of other teams (https://twitter.com/BarDown/status/1782605921358586040) are angry about this. Many people in the NHL public sphere are as well, stating that “ https://twitter.com/985Sports/status/1782597221847888290 » since clubs do not all play with the same rules.

But the reality is that everyone can do it. The Blackhawks, Lightning and Golden Knights all won the Cup by taking advantage of this rule… and Tampa did it after asking for the rule to be changed, following the 2015 Stanley Cup.

It didn’t work and Julien BriseBois, instead, took advantage of it against the Canadian in 2021. #NikitaKucherov

As long as the rules remain unchanged, other teams will have to do the same thing to win… knowing full well that the NHL will do nothing to slow them down. Nobody can say it’s not fair for everyone.
