It’s official, Lucas Martins (21 years old, 1m93, 94 kg) will discover a new championship next season. SU Agen announced the signing of the winger this Wednesday. The Portuguese international (4 caps) is committed until 2027.
As announced in these columns last March, Lucas Martins will wear the colors of Agen well next season. The Lot-et-Garonnais club formalized the signing of the winger this Wednesday. The Portuguese international has signed a contract with the SUA until 2027. The one who made his debut under the colors of Blagnac will therefore bounce back into Pro D2.
As a reminder, the Blagnac club which played in the National was forced to file for bankruptcy in January 2024. Several players from the squad have therefore landed in Pro D2 such as Victor Delmas (Montauban), Matthieu Vachon (Valence-Romans) or even Ugo Seunes who will join Aurillac next season.

This season Lucas Martins has only six match sheets, four of which were with Portugal during the recent 6 Nations B Tournament. The winger will therefore experience a brand new championship with Agen but will unfortunately not meet his brother, Nicolas Martins, since the third line of Soyaux Angoulême should head to Montpellier in Top 14 next season.
Note that the SUA is currently in tenth place in the championship and will travel to Valence-Romans this weekend.
