In both cities and the countryside, the electrically assisted bicycle (EAB) is increasingly popular. In 2022, 738,000 new models were sold, more than new cars, propelling the bicycle to the top of the list of means of transport. Especially since cycle paths are multiplying everywhere. France currently has 57,000 km of secure cycle paths, with a target of 80,000 km by 2027 and 100,000 km by 2030*. Are you still hesitant to get started? Consider renting. Some regions (Ile-de-France, Aix-Marseille-Provence metropolis, Lyon-Oullins –Villeurbanne, etc.) and brands (Decathlon, Swapfiets, etc.) offer long-term rental services, starting at €20 per month. Most stores also allow you to test them for a few hours. To ensure that this means of transport suits you and to be able to start buying your bike.
