Would you be willing to pay $100 for a box of six nuggets? You might not, but at the US Open in New York, there are tennis fans who have no qualms about shelling out a hefty sum for fried chicken at Coqodaq, a restaurant that opened in January and made its first appearance at the famous Grand Slam tournament. The menu features pasture-raised, humanely certified chicken, seedless oil and gluten-free dough—all of which help justify the cost.

In an Instagram post, the restaurant offered three options for its nuggets: the first offered six to eight pieces of chicken for a price ranging from $26 to $34, while the others, called “The Golden Set,” were made up of six pieces accompanied by a crème fraîche sauce, as well as caviar or truffle, for $100. That’s $16.67 per piece (about 15 euros).

Created by the team at the luxury restaurant located in Manhattan, the nuggets were only available at a stand open to people with a special ticket, which allows access to the boxes of the Arthur Ashe court, the largest in the world. On Sunday, September 8, for the final of the men’s tournament, the cheapest tickets in this category, available on the Ticketmaster website, were selling for around $1,000 each, according to the American daily The New York Times.
