Real Madrid, Liverpool, Juventus… the tough draw for Losc

The Champions League draw was made this Thursday evening, and Lille, who qualified against Slavia Prague on Wednesday, now know their eight opponents. Between European big names and more accessible clubs, Bruno Genesio’s Losc can aim for qualification.

The dates of the matches are not yet known, but in a few months, Lille’s calendar will be very busy. On the program in Europe, Real Madrid, Liverpool and Juventus in particular because this Thursday, the draw for the Champions League took place and Lille, who recently qualified against Slavia Prague, now knows its eight opponents.

In total, four receptions and four away games await Lille. In detail, Losc will host Real Madrid, Juventus, Feyenoord and Sturm Graz. The Northerners will however have to travel to the pitch of Liverpool, Atletico Madrid, Sporting Portugal and Bologna.

The draw was not kind to Lucas Chevalier’s teammates who inherited the big prize in pots 1 and 2, even if they managed to avoid Manchester City or Arsenal. As for pot 3, Lille could hardly have hoped for worse, by drawing the winner of the Portuguese championship, with Sporting and the second of the Dutch championship, Feyenoord Rotterdam.

Insure against the most accessible teams

Aiming for a top 8, synonymous with direct qualification for the knockout stages seems difficult. But Losc will try to be at least between 9th and 24th place, qualifying ranks to play two play-off matches. Because above this, the 12 lowest-ranked teams will be directly eliminated.

To remain in the most prestigious European competition, Bruno Genesio’s men will have to perform well against clubs within their reach, such as Bologna and Sturm Graz.
