CHM agents suspended their strike this Wednesday, having obtained commitments for the payment of a Chido bonus of 3,000 euros. The request has been emulated: the firefighters of Mayotte airport are in turn demanding a bonus and an increase in indexation.
A social conflict aroused others. CHM agents went on strike for three days before signing an agreement this Wednesday: management undertakes to transmit to the Ministry of Health the request for the payment of a Chido bonus and an increase in indexation . “We are asking, in the same way as the caregivers, to obtain compensation of up to 3,000 euros per agent and an increase in the indexation rate“, wrote this Thursday, January 23, the SNSPP.PATS union, representing the firefighters at Mayotte airport.
“Since the start of the disaster, the airport's firefighters have been mobilized on the front line, despite sometimes precarious living conditions and an obvious lack of material support.“, notes the union. “We also deplore the absence of basic solutions such as tarpaulins to secure our own homes and protect our families.” The firefighters are threatening to “make their voices heard in the streets“, recalling that “without us, no airport, no flight and therefore no help for Mayotte.”
-They are not the only ones to have taken over from the hospital center's caregivers: agents of the regional health agency also began an indefinite strike this Thursday to demand an improvement in working conditions, a perpetuation of precarious contracts or even a request for exceptional emergency assistance. On the other hand, they lowered the bids, asking “only” 2,000 euros per agent.
