The soap opera surrounding the young Kenyan midfielder Timothy Ouma, aged 20 and playing for Elfsborg in Sweden, is experiencing an unexpected twist. While everything suggested that he was going to join Slavia Praguethe financial demands of the Swedish club were ultimately deemed excessive by the Czech club, according to information from the media InfotBal. This turnaround could relaunch the path leading to AS Saint-Étienne.

A transfer to Slavia Prague which seemed certain

Initially, the Swedish press claimed that Ouma's transfer to Slavia was almost complete. The Czech club seemed to have taken the advantage over ASSE in the race to secure the services of the promising midfielder. However, the negotiations reportedly failed on the financial demands considered too high from ElfsborgOuma's training club. “Slavia is no longer in an emergency”says the Czech media, referring to the good impression left by several young people during the winter training course in Marbella.

ASSE back on the job?

This turnaround could allow ASSE to return to the race for Timothy Ouma. The Greens, currently looking for young talents to strengthen their squad, were already very interested in the player last summer. The arrival of a promising midfielder like Ouma could prove valuable for a Saint-Etienne team in search of new blood. With the winter transfer window still open until February 3, everything remains possible for the future of Timothy Ouma, even if his future now seems to lie far from Prague.
