During the night from Sunday to Monday, FC Porto dismissed its coach, Vitor Bruno, from his position.
One defeat too many. Defeated in Barcelos this Sunday evening, during a championship match between FC Porto and Gil Vicente (3-1), Portuguese coach Vitor Bruno was dismissed from his duties. A decision which seemed to be obvious, while the latter was no longer unanimous on the banks of the Douro.
A Portuguese coach in sight
As with every departure of a coach, the game consists of finding the one who will be appointed to replace him. For now, three names have stood out within the Portuguese management. Among these three technicians, we would find in particular a certain Luis Castro, who is coming out of an experience in Saudi Arabia.
A choice that could delight many supporters, given the ties the Portuguese has within the club. As a reminder, Luis Castro spent many years in the ranks of FC Porto, and even took charge of the first team in 2014, before experiencing numerous adventures at the highest level, both in Portugal and abroad .
Two foreign options studied by Porto
According to MaisFutebol, Brazilian coach Tite would also be one of the profiles currently being studied by President André Villas-Boas and his team. Fresh from Flamengo, the former Brazil coach has never coached any team on European soil, which could be a hindrance for FC Porto.
-The name of the third coach currently on the shortlist of Portista leaders has not, for the moment, been leaked. According to the Portuguese media MaisFutebol, it would be a technician of Spanish origin. In the international press, rumors are already suggesting an interest from FC Porto in a certain Julen Lopetegui, who was dismissed from his position at the head of West Ham in recent days.
