The GF38 officially has its new coach with the arrival of Franck Rizzetto, presented to the press this Saturday. He will now be able to set about reshaping his workforce. Although we should not expect major maneuvers, things should nevertheless change, already with regard to departures.
Foot Mercato announced last week an agreement reached between the Hungarian club Ferencvaros and GF38 regarding Lenny Joseph. We can confirm that the departure of Lenny Joseph is current since the player came to say goodbye to his teammates last Friday at the Stade des Alpes.
The information was also confirmed by Max Marty during Franck Rizzetto's presentation. “ We have reached an agreement with a club where Lenny Joseph wishes to go, at his request. A priori, he intends to find an agreement with them, we agree with the club so it is almost certain that Lenny will leave us« .
The offer would be substantial for a player at the end of his contract in 6 months, which would largely satisfy all parties. If Lenny Joseph was very appreciated internally and has always shown an impeccable state of mind, there are people in his sector of play and the transition to two attackers has made him even less essential in a rotation – he did not play in 2025 during Grenoble's three victories.
Another potential departure often mentioned would gain depth according to our information: that of Pape Meissa Ba. Schalke 04, a German second division club, would indeed be very interested in bringing in the top scorer in Ligue 2 this winter. The Bundes2 team has just loaned Bryan Lasme to the Zurich Grasshoppers (Switzerland) and has therefore freed up a place in its already very stocked offensive sector. Schalke would also like to already prepare for the future departure of Moussa Sylla (ex Pau, already in Ligue 2) who should leave next summer after his incredibly good first part of the season. Another piece of information in passing, the sum of €500,000 mentioned by the Spanish press as the amount of the exit voucher would be “far below reality”. As Max Marty explained to us at the beginning of January, the GF38 will not oppose the departure of its attacker if everyone benefits. A departure which would compensate him this winter.
-Finally, the squad could also lose 2 or 3 other players to refine it. We are thinking of Bachirou Yameogo who could be loaned out to improve at a better level than Regional 1 or of someone like Nolan Mbemba who no longer plays much despite Dante Rigo's injury. “ To play the end of the season without the Coupe de France, we may have a few extra players who will go on loan or transfer. We'll see if we need to recruit someone, the market closes on February 3. We're going to try to reorganize and discuss all that. We are in a period where we can readjust the squad, I think there will be more departures than arrivals. » indicated the general director of GF38 this Saturday.
Efe Sarikaya should not be loaned out despite 0 seconds of playing time in Ligue 2 so far. At GF38, we want to see him win in Grenoble – and therefore make the effort to win in L2 this season. A 3 behind system could offer him more opportunities, as could the fewer international gatherings which did not help during the first part of the season, the Turkish defender often juggling injuries and absences from the capital of the Alps.
Franck Rizzetto will of course now be directly involved in decision-making.
