LOSC “waiting for the commission’s decision” for Nabil Bentaleb

Almost seven months after his cardio-respiratory arrest, Nabil Bentaleb soon arrives at a crossroads. Olivier Létang, in , took stock of the situation of his protégé. LOSC is awaiting a decision.

Back on the lawns of Domaine de Luchin for several weeks, where he is kicking a ball again, Nabil Bentaleb (30 years old) is one of the big topics in news. His case is the subject of great uncertainty and the press is seeking to know the slightest little progress. While passing through the mixed zone near the Vélodrome, Olivier Létang was unable to avoid questions concerning him. He therefore took stock of the situation of his protégé.

“Nabil (Bentaleb) started a program in September with a cardiologist center, including a Dutchman who took care of the case of Christian Eriksen. Then, the program takes place in five phases. Usually, the red flags occur in the first two phases and they went very well. Everything is going very well for Nabil. He has almost completed the third phase and we are now in discussion with the commission of the French Federation to find out if he can be authorized to resume the sport in competition”he indicated this Tuesday.

The president of LOSC also takes the opportunity to recall that “the most important thing is that Nabil (Bentaleb) is doing wellthat his health and physical integrity are not put in danger in view of what he has experienced”he wanted to clarify again. These actors are now in “waiting for discussions with the commission” while retaining “the hope that Nabil can play again with the LOSC jersey” in the coming months, within the Decathlon Arena – Stade Pierre Mauroy. If no date has yet been given and the Lille team is awaiting more information, Olivier Létang added that “we were no longer very far from a decision” this Tuesday, following the qualification of LOSC, winner of OM (1-1, 3-4 tab), in the round of 16 of the Coupe de .

What about the rules?

The vagueness persists around this decision, the context of which was framed by the Lille leader: “It’s not a question of regulations, but it’s the opinion of the commission. These are experts who work on the subject. The good thing is that they can all trade.
It's up to them to make the right decision. This was never done in France, but it was also the case in England, Germany and the Netherlands. Things were done today.
We hope that the situation can change”
concluded Olivier Létang, giving some details to Bruno Genesio's recent comments.

What is certain is that Nabil Bentaleb is doing everything in his power to achieve his goal, even to the point of making a strong impression at Domaine de Luchin.
