[J15] Girondins4Ever notes after Granville-: two players not at all at the level

This Saturday, January 11, 2025, the Girondins de played a match on the 15th day of the championship National 2 outside facing the club
Granville. The meeting was played at Louis Dior Stadium.

That the start of this second part of the season is sluggish. As against Locminé, we did not see the
Girondins de Bordeaux dominate their opponent, Granville, despite being bottom of the championship and Pool B of National 2. In the first half, frankly, there was no real opportunity, both in the last gesture, and even two meters from the goal, the people of Bordeaux made incomprehensible decisions.

Not dominating the game, the Girondins then returned to what they know how to do, namely long aerial balls in front, on Andy Carroll, so that he controls, or deflects for one of his teammates. And it ended up working… In the last ten minutes of regulation time, the Girondins really gained the upper hand over Granville, showing themselves to be more enterprising, and above all more physically fresh. Bordeaux therefore took the advantage thanks to Andy Carroll who, from a corner, controlled the ball with his chest, and followed up with a small shot on the opposite side of the net. While we thought the victory had been achieved, Jean Grillot made a delayed foul in the area (while the shot had already been taken) and the referee whistled a penalty. A converted penalty while the scorer very clearly stops his run… We no longer believed it and once again on a set piece, on a corner from Soufiane Bahassa to be precise, Adrien Louveau deflects towards the goal for Nassim Ranem, came into play a few seconds earlier: a goal that delivered everyone.

In the end, the Girondins avoided corrections, on a day where all other matches were postponed due to bad weather. FCGB returns to third place. But it will take much, much more than that to hope for anything at the end of the season.
