“My dream is to wear the Morocco jersey”, the scorer of the moment sends a message to Walid Regragui

While he is hitting the screen in Scotland, Hamza Igamane finally revealed himself during an interview. In which he proclaims his wish to represent the Moroccan selection as quickly as possible.

At only 22 years old, Hamza Igamane, former Botola Pro 2022/23 champion with AS FAR Rabat, is now shining in Scotland under the colors of Glasgow Rangers. Arriving last summer, the native of Témara has had a string of good performances and has a very specific dream: joining Walid Regragui’s Atlas Lions.

A form of thunder

After a complicated start marked by injuries and a difficult adaptation, Igamane has regained the full extent of his talent. Author of 11 goals and 2 assists in 22 matches, all competitions combined, he is one of the players in form at the moment and remains on a resounding hat-trick.

It was a dream to play in Europe, like every Moroccan player, and Rangers gave me this chance“, explains Hamza Igamane about his beginnings in Scotland, in an interview with the media The 360. “Their project convinced me from the start, and the coach showed me that he believed in me from our first contact.

His trainer, Philippe Clément, does not hide his enthusiasm at the progress of the Atlas Lion Cub:

Hamza still has significant room for improvement. We want to make our players better so that they reach a higher level. With him, it’s a question of hunger and desire“, confides the Belgian technician, impressed by the progress curve of his attacker.

“My dream is to wear the Morocco jersey”

Before making a name for himself in Europe, Hamza Igamane had already made an impression in Botola Pro with AS FAR. His performances earned him a place of choice within the Moroccan U23s, with whom he played in the CAN U23 in 2023. This competition allowed Morocco to qualify for the 2024 Olympics, but Igamane keeps a bitter taste from this episode:

Participating in the U23 CAN was an incredible experience, especially since this competition allowed us to qualify for the Olympics. Unfortunately, I injured my ankle in the semi-final against Mali, which prevented me from playing in the final. But winning the title remains a special memory“, he remembers, always for the Moroccan media.

Building on his club performances, Hamza Igamane now has a clear ambition: to earn a call-up with the Moroccan national team.

Like any Moroccan player, my dream is to wear the national team jersey. I also want to continue to help my current team and, subsequently, play in a major European club“, he says, with determination.

While Walid Regragui prepares the next Atlas Lions games and his staff moved to supervise him, the Rangers striker is ready to respond to a possible call, why not from March. The first in a long series?
