OFFICIAL – A Ligue 2 coach leaves his post prematurely!

He obviously hoped it would turn out differently, but time is running out for AC who is already 5 points behind the first non-relegation in Ligue 2 and which is engaged in a race against time to maintain itself, both sportingly and administratively. While his team lost again, at home against (1-2), the coach Matthew Chabert has officially left his position as ACA coach by mutual agreement with his employer, who is trying to cause an electric shock to save the furniture. Having left 7 days before the Corsican derby, Chabert will therefore not return to the pitch at the Stade Armand-Cesari of SC , his former club, because of a very disappointing record over his first six months in all competitions (4 victories, 3 draws and 11 defeats).

The official press release from AC Ajaccio:

“AC Ajaccio and Mathieu Chabert have made the decision to end their collaboration by mutual agreement.

The club and the coach met this morning at the Michel Moretti stadium. The decision to terminate the contract was taken by mutual agreement. AC Ajaccio highlights the determination of Mathieu Chabert throughout his career with the club.

The interim head of the first team will be Thierry Debes. Arriving at the club in 2007, Thierry Debes has always upheld the values of the ACA. First on the field as a goalkeeper for five seasons (156 matches) then within the technical staff in which he has worked since 2013. Thierry Debes had taken over an interim role in 2014. He had managed to set in motion a positive dynamic with the team winning three times.

The upcoming matches will be crucial for the future of the club, we call on all of the White and Red components to unite behind the staff and players in the maintenance mission. »
