Aaron Ramsdale kept a clean sheet in the draw against Fulham (0-0).

SPORT – It wasn’t a tribute to Mickey Mouse. Absent from the field during his team's last six matches, Aaron Ramsdale made his comeback to the Premier League this Sunday, December 22. For the occasion, the Southampton goalkeeper wore a special glove with just four fingers.

This strange accessory has the effect of sticking his middle and ring fingers together. It mainly serves to protect the player's left hand, which suffered a fracture during his last appearance in early November.

This glove could well become a lucky charm for the “Saints” goalkeeper who gave himself a clean sheet (zero goals conceded) in the match between his team and that of Fulham, and which ended in a soporific 0-0. The presence of the former Arsenal player, recruited for more than 20.30 million euros last summer, was decisive as he made five saves which allowed the goalless score to be preserved.

This match ends Southampton's losing streak, who had not scored a point in their last four league meetings. After this draw against the ninth in the Premier League, Southampton remains 20th and last in the standings with only six points.

However, the British goalkeeper and his team will have one last chance to end 2024 in style this Thursday, November 26 as they will play their last opposition of the year against West Ham, currently 14th in the Premier League.
